1. depend on = တည္သည္ ၊ အားထားသည္။

Are you going to the beach tomorrow ?It depends on the weather.

မင္းတုိ႔ မနက္ျဖန္ ကမ္းေျခသုိ႔ သြားၾကမွာလား ၊ ဒါကေတာ့ ရာသီဥတု အေျခအေန အရပဲ။

2. die of= ေရာဂါတစ္ခုခုျဖင့္ ေသသည္။

A lot of people are dying of AIDS.

ကုိယ္ခံအား က်ဆင္းမႈေရာဂါေၾကာင့္ လူအမ်ားအျပား ေသၾကတယ္။

3. dream about = အိပ္မက္မက္သည္။

I am dreaming about my lover when I suddenly woke up.

ကုိယ့္ခ်စ္သူအေၾကာင့္ အိမ္မက္မက္လုိ႔ ေကာင္းတုန္း အိပ္ရာက ရုတ္တရက္ လန္႔နုိ္းသြားတယ္။

4. dream of = စိ္တ္ကူးယဥ္သည္။

When I was younger I dreamt of being a famous pop singer.

ကၽြန္ေတာ္ ခပ္ငယ္ငယ္တုန္းက ကုိယ့္ကုိယ္ကုိ နာမည္ၾကီး ေပါ့အဆုိေတာ္ တစ္ေယာက္လုိ႔ စိတ္ကူးယဥ္ခဲ့ဖူးတယ္။

5. dream of = ၾကံရြယ္စိ္တ္ကူးသည္။

I wouldn't dream of changing my job.

ကၽြန္ေတာ္ အလုပ္တစ္ေနရာေျပာင္းဖုိ႔ စိတ္ကူးမွာ မဟုတ္ဘူး။

6. hear about = သတင္းရသည္ ၊ ၾကားရသည္။

Jimmy broke his leg in a skiing accident. Have you heard about this?

ဂ်င္မီတစ္ေယာက္ နွင္းခဲျပင္ ေလ်ာစီးရင္း မေတာ္တဆ ေျခက်ိဳးတဲ့အေၾကာင္း မင္းၾကားျပီးျပီလား။

7. hear from = ထံမွ ၾကားရသည္။

We haven't heard from Mike since he wrote to us last May .

လြန္ခဲ့တဲ့ ေမလက ေနာက္ဆုံးစာ ရျပီးတဲ့ေနာက္ ငါတုိ႔ Mike ဆီက ဘာသတင္းမွ မရေတာ့ဘူး။

8. hear of = ၾကားဖူးသည္။

Who is he? I've never heard of him.

သူက ဘယ္သူလဲ ၊ သူ႔အေၾကာင္း ငါမၾကားဖူးဘူး။

9. laugh at = ျပက္ရယ္ျပဳသည္။

Who's that girl smiling at you?

မင္းကုိ ျပဳံးျပေနတဲ့ ကေလးမဟာ ဘယ္သူလဲ။

10. listen to = နားေထာင္သည္။

Would you like to listen to some music ?

ေတးဂီတ နားေထာင္ခ်င္သလား။

11 . apologize to = ၀န္ခ်ေတာင္းပန္သည္။

I apologize to her for being late.

ကၽြန္ေတာ္ ေနာက္က်မိတဲ့အတြက္ေၾကာင့္ သူ႔ကုိေတာင္းပန္လိုက္တယ္။

12. Apply for = အလုပ္ေလွ်ာက္ထားသည္။

I'm going to apply for the job.

ကၽြန္ေတာ္ အလုပ္တစ္ခုေလွ်ာက္ထားမယ္။

13. believe in = ယုံၾကည္သည္။

I believe in his story.

သူ႔ေျပာျပခ်က္ကုိ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ယုံၾကည္တယ္။

14. belong to = ပုိ္င္ဆုိင္သည္။

Does this car belong to you?

ဒီကားက မင္းကိုယ္ပိုင္လား။

15. care about = အေလးထားသည္။

I don't care about money . Money can't buy happiness.

ကၽြန္ေတာ္ ေငြကို သိပ္အေလးမထားပါဘူး။ေပ်ာ္ရႊင္မႈကုိ ေငြနဲ႔ ၀ယ္လိုမွမရတာ။

16. care for = ျပဳစုေစာင့္ေရွာက္သည္။

She's very good at caring for sick animals.

ေနမေကာင္းျဖစ္တဲ့ တိရစၦာန္ကုိ ျပဳစုရာမွာ အင္မတန္ ေတာ္တယ္။

17. take care of = ၾကည့္ရႈေစာင့္ေရွာက္သည္။

Could you take care of the baby while I go out shopping?

ငါ ေစ်း၀ယ္သြားေနတုန္း မင္း ငါ့ကေလးကုိ ၾကည့္ထားေပးနုိင္မလား။

18. Complain to = မေက်နပ္မႈကုိ တိုင္းတာသည္။

The workers complained to the manager about the working condition.

လုပ္ငန္းခြင္ အေျခအေနနဲ႔ ပက္သက္၍ မေက်နပ္ေၾကာင္း အလုပ္သမားမ်ားက မန္ေနဂ်ာထံတင္ျပၾကသည္။

19. concentrate on = အာရုံစုိက္သည္။

Concentrate on the road when you're driving.

မင္း ကားေမာင္းေနတဲ့ အခ်ိန္မွာ လမ္းကုိ အာရုံစုိက္ပါ။

20. crash into , run into , drive into , bump into = ၀င္တိုက္မိသည္၊ ပက္ပင္းတုိ္းသည္။

When I was driving home I almost crashed into a bus.

အိမ္အျပန္ ကားေမာင္းသြားေနတုန္းဘတ္စကားတစ္စင္းနဲ႔ တိုက္မိေတာ့မလို႔။

"ေ၀ါဟာရမ်ား တြင္တြင္က်ယ္က်ုယ္အသုံးျပဳနုိင္ၾကျပီး အဂၤလိပ္စာတုိးတက္ၾကပါေစ......"
